Next Tuesday, September 28th is a holiday we can all celebrate – National Voter Registration Day! Texas Educators Vote is proud to be participating in this important effort again this year.
Did you know that:
- Each year, an estimated 30+ million Americans move. Whether you move across the country or down the street, you need to update your voter registration.
- A great birthday gift for anyone turning 18 is to encourage them to register to vote.
- New American citizens can register to vote so they can cast their first vote in an American election.
- One in four people aren’t registered to vote.
- 42% of all unregistered voters ages 18-24 said they
- Didn’t know how
- Kept forgetting
- Didn’t have time
- Were too busy
- Had recently moved.
- #NationalVoterRegistrationDay is committed to providing every tool and resource to help people register to vote.
To Do:
- Confirm that you are registered and print an application form here.
- Check out the great National Voter Registration Day resources.
- Share registration materials with students, co-workers, family, and friends to make sure they’re registered too!
With the October 4th voter registration deadline (for the November 2021 Constitutional Amendment Election) looming in Texas, National Voter Registration Day is an opportunity to reach out to unregistered voters and remind them that now is the time to register and make sure their voices are heard!
