National Voter Registration Day is September 24th!

National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) is a nationwide, nonpartisan effort to register hundreds of thousands of voters on Tuesday, September 24th. NVRD was first observed in 2012 and has been growing in popularity every year since. The League of Women Voters invites schools across Texas to join us in efforts to empower Texas Voters.
How can schools and educators can help?
- Sign up to participate: https://nationalvoterregistrationday.org/partner-2019-sign-up/
- Promote National Voter Registration Day to your parents, students, staff and community.
- Host a voter registration event or share events in your community.
- Share where and how folks can get registered by sharing your county’s voter registration information, Texas Secretary of State voter registration information at www.votetexas.gov, or the League’s nonpartisan voter registration site at LWVTexas.orgor VOTE411.org.
- If you are a high school, consider using NVRD as one of your mandated voter registration opportunities.
- Share the wwwbeatexasvoter.org curriculum’ video How to Register to Vote with students and provide a volunteer deputy registrar to register students and staff.
- Contact your local League or find resources for educators here: https://my.lwv.org/texas/educators. Use the Checklist: High School Voter Registration
- Post on social media about National Voter Registration day.

– Last day to register to vote in this election is Oct. 7, 2019
– Vote Early Oct. 21-Nov.1 2019
