The “education session” is getting close to the finish line and there are a lot of loose ends. Make sure every session is an “education session” by becoming an educated and engaged voter. By modeling civic engagement and voting, educators create a culture of voting and help the next generation of voters grow up knowing how important it is to “participate in government by educating oneself about the issues, respectfully holding public officials to their word, and voting.”
On May 4th, many communities will hold local elections for school boards, mayor, bonds, and more. Early voting is underway and continues through Tuesday, April 30th.
To do:
- Check your county’s website to find out what will be on your ballot.
- VOTE early through April 30th or on Election Day – May 4th .
