Early voting for May 1st elections starts today!
The May 1st Uniform Election is right around the corner and early voting starts today and continues through April 27th. There are many important issues and candidates that will be determined based on who shows up to vote. What you will vote on will vary based on where you live, so make sure to check with your county elections office to find out what will be on your ballot. We have made so much progress creating a culture of voting, but our work isn’t done. Creating a culture of voting means voting in EVERY ELECTION! May elections often have very low turnout, but the results of the election will have great impact on your local community. Your vote matters. Please do your research and make a plan to vote today!
To Do:
1. Check with your county elections office to find out about voting times, locations, and what will be on your ballot.
2. Research the candidates and issues you will be voting on (check local papers, organizations you trust, and people you respect to better understand the issues).
3. Plan your vote! Write it on your calendar and find your ID, mask, hand sanitizer, and write down how you will vote so you can bring it with you. (No phones in the voting booth!)
4. Vote!
Thank you for being a Texas voter!
To the polls,
